A London practice for residential architecture and planning
Hampstead Architecture and Planning was formed to bring residential design, planning strategy, structural engineering and technical delivery together under one roof. We work on houses, flats and period properties across north, northwest and central London — from first feasibility through planning, building regulations and construction-stage delivery.
The practice
We are a director-led practice based in Hampstead. Every project runs through a single accountable point of contact, supported by our in-house architectural designers, architects, and structural engineers working alongside sister companies Hampstead Renovations (construction, renovation, and refurbishment delivery) and Hampstead Chartered Surveyors & Building Consultancy (party wall, building regulations, surveying, and compliance).
Bringing architectural design, structural engineering, surveying and construction capability together as one joined-up team under one roof means feasibility, planning strategy, structural detailing, statutory compliance and buildability are resolved together from the start.

Our in-house architectural designers, architects, and structural engineers work alongside Hampstead Renovations, which delivers construction, renovation, and refurbishment for London homes, and Hampstead Chartered Surveyors & Building Consultancy, which handles party wall matters, building regulations, surveying, and compliance. Each business can be appointed for its stage or coordinated as one joined-up team from initial feasibility and planning through to structural engineering, compliance, and build.

Design with planning, leasehold, party wall and construction realities considered from the first conversation — so the home you imagine is the one that gets approved and built.
London residential projects rarely depend on drawings alone. Conservation controls, leasehold approvals, structural change, building control and contractor coordination all shape what gets approved and what gets built well. We design with those constraints in mind from the beginning, and we are direct about what a drawing package can and cannot guarantee.
Insurance cover, standards and appointments
Our work is backed by comprehensive group insurance cover including £5M Public Liability, £10M Employers' Liability, and Contractors' All Risks (CAR) insurance.
Appointments are confirmed in writing before work begins, stating scope, responsibilities, exclusions and fees. We publish fixed-fee packages rather than open-ended hourly rates. Where a project needs specialist input — structural, party wall, fire, heritage — each stage is scoped clearly in writing so responsibilities never blur.
